Ya Cali only has ULSD but you are legal to buy fuel for you PU in another state. Not ship it back but you can have it in your tank. I have seen else where on this site guys saying it was illegal to have anything but ULSD in your tank in Cali. Cali is the main forse behind all the emissions stuff on trucks. One of the few states that Smog test Heavy Trucks and certifies them to go into the ports and rail yards.

Ford makes conversion components that allow you to use non-ULSD in your '08 truck, for those vehicles operated outside of the US. There is language to this effect in your owners manual.
About a year ago there was a string on FTE about this, and it includes the page number reference in the manual.

If the refineries sulfur scrubber is down then they have to sell the fuel oversees.If there is a disater area(hurricane) the president can have the EPA lift the restrictions and make a higher sulfur.Off road diesel is ULSD but with a dye.That brings up the warranty issue for the newer vehicles. If anything over 15 ppm will damage the egr and dpf who is responsible???
