Coolant Filter Install

Hey guys,

I have had my coolant filter kit for about 2 months now and finally got it installed today. Well ofcourse because everything I touch turns into a bigger project than normal this was no suprise. Anyway I have the Banks I/C with the larger CAC pipes and long story short the bracket doesnt fit with the intercooler or larger pipes. So after some trial and error, mostly error, I went to the local autobody supply store and picked up an encapsulated nut and removed the factory clip nut where the IC support bushing bolts to dor the larger encapsulated nut. I drilled another hole in the braket so I could botl it to the core support through the IC bushing and still use the bolt and sleeve t stiffen the bracket. So about 4 extra hours of work and its done, I also went to the hardware store and added the 1/4 turn ball valaves cause I forgot to buy them.

The only issue I have is, for those of you with the Banks IC, the clamp on the turbo boot slides off when trying to clamp it tight. I got it tight and drove it hard to exercise the turbo but I was wondering if anyone knows if there is an updated boot fro Banks at the turbo side or canI go to FORD and just buy one of theres, it looks like it is the same size as the OEM pipe at that end.

I will take some pictures and post up for you guys

The kit doesn't include the ball valves ( from Dieselsite ), you can buy them at hardware stores....
