Any Dodges for sale?

Im getting real sick of spending time and money on this POS Ford. The money Ive spent on tow bills would feed me for a year!
OK now Ive vented , I need help again please.

Wife just phones from town in the middle of a freezing rainstorm.

Truck starts to slow down with no power then quits in the middle of the road, she didnt even have a chance to pull over, so there she sits in traffic on super icey roads.

Dont have alot of info (upset women explaining problem on phone) but the Check engine light is on and it didnt just quit , the way she explained it it lost power then quit.
It started a couple of times then quit when she put it in drive.
It wont start at all now.
Thanks

Before I forget, mine started up like 3 mins later and I got it almost all the way home. See if she can crank it and move it to side of road!

Ford changed the CPS 6 months or so ago.
But I suppose it could go again?
I have a spare.

It wouldnt hurt to do that before you call a tow truck. See if you can get a better idea of what exactly happened from your wife. IE did anything like my experience happen??

Exactly like you say other than it wont start again.
Ive read things here about whether the tach moves or not.
Well the tach doesnt move when you try to start it?
Mean anything to anyone?

The tach trick doesn't work on the '02 trucks.

Slowly dying sounds like a fuel problem to me. Does it have **GOOD** fuel in it? Fuel filter fresh? Good fuel pump? Need to get the codes read to get you pointed in the right direction, though.

And it's not like a Dodge would EVER leave you stranded...

Okay $2k then.
Seriously if you think Dodge is 1 up on Ford in any department you're sadly mistaken. Note I said Dodge NOT Cummins... nothing against the motor just hate whats around/behind it.

Check and see if the fuel bowl has fuel in it...then turn key to acc and see if you hear the fuel pump humming

I know that the CPS can do some funny stuff but my experience with those failures usually are a sharp cut off like someone turned the key off. Since you described a slow down then dying type of condition, I'm wondering if it's fuel delivery related. ie: dead fuel pump.
