Need Help - Tranny Identification
VIN: 1FMDU34X9VZA95736
Axle Code 46
TR Code D
Need to pick up a junkyard tranny but was asked if it has the O/D sensor or not. Was told 5R55 came with and without the sensor but if I have it now I need it on the junker or my computer will be looking for the sensor. My Owners manual shows 5R55E as the tranny for SOHC 4x4. I have the pushrod engine, is the tranny really a 5R55E? And is there a way to verify the O/D sensor without dropping the tranny? I need to drive this truck until I find the right replacement.
Thanks
BTW: Current tranny flies out of gear at low RPM/pressure, really whines until I give it the gas, then catches and goes. When in gear it shifts ok and my mileage hasn't really dropped. I've been manually shifting to keep the RPMs up around 2000-2500 so it stays hooked up. Solenoid? This week I've beat the hell out of it with this manual shifting so with 237k on it I need to replace it.
Thanks again

Overdrive Drum Speed (ODS) Sensor
The overdrive drum speed (ODS) sensor is a magnetic pickup that sends the powertrain control module (PCM) information on the rotation speed of the overdrive drum.
The ODS sensor is mounted externally on the left-side front of the transmission case.
The PCM uses ODS sensor signals to help determine electronic pressure control (EPC) pressure, shift scheduling and torque converter clutch (TCC) operation.
Symptoms:
High EPC resulting in harsh shifts.
Incorrect shift schedule.
Incorrect TCC operation or no TCC engagement.
DTC: P1719
