Yea, talked to one of the guys doing the 09 meet and greets here in MN and he said the toy only made it one time down the track $5,000+ damage, good luck to all who have one of those. The Ford they have run over and over.
This is exactly what Ford needs to do. In the 80's they did this and it paid off in a big way. They need to have this as a commercial on TV during the superbowl in segments to show America what Built Ford Tough means. It's a shame that they can't put more horsepower in the new trucks so that they can show the Ford pulling the competition backwards, or outrunning them.

They may not pull them backwards, but they'll outlast them.
Yup, good stuff, my money well invested! There is no substitute for good engineering. I thought the new Dodge would have been better, hmmmm. Chevy really needs a trip to the drawing board not just adds with nostalgia. And, the Toyota was pathetic, not surprised, as I said in another post, when I went to get a new truck I looked at the Toyotas first and wasn't too impressed. Just not "solid" in several ways, although there is no doubt the drivetrain is certainly excellent, but what good is it if the truck is self destructing around it???
Did you have the newest tundra or the 1st gen?? I also really liked the payload test that was also really interesting, the Ford was the only one who could handle the load.

I had the new style, it was a 2007 Tundra.
Sold it at a huge loss just months later, and replaced it with a 2007 F150.
The F150 is far better than the tundra.
The 1996 F 150 was built Ford tough at first too.......
Then the gas tank rusted out, the oil pan rusted out, the frame rusted out...
Let's see how the 09 does in a couple years
Wow! That sounds just like my "dearly departed" 1989 F-150 Supercab 4x4. Though I suspect I was getting better mpg as the frame rotted and shed steel and my rear gas tank and spare tire also .
