HI i have two truck e-350 7.3 2000 and 2001 when i driving one 2000 i think i have emision inside the cab everyday when i use this truck i have headache i remove cover inside and i check mufler pipe and turbo conection looks good sombody can help me Thank you Adam
Adam, I would check your up-pipes coming from the exhaust manifold. Look for soot on the connections. If you don't see any, check the babies butt on the back of the turbo. Then check your down pipe connection.
There is one more place exhaust could be getting into the engine compartment. Look at your EBPS tube. Good luck on this.
Emission inside the cab,,, when ever I have to do this, I try to blame it on the dog, the wife just slaps me and rolls down the window check for a missing grommet or loose boot on firewall that will let fumes from a leaking up pipe into the cab. Barney
See the black streaks on the pipe on the left? (Photo courtesy of kwikkordead).
That is an exhaust leak right below the cover you can remove to see the back of the engine on your van. Do you see anything like this on either one of those pipes?
Yes i see this behind the engine on passenger side on last injectors
If you see those black streaks, that is an exhaust leak. You can either replace the donut gaskets on those pipes, or look into bellowed up pipes from International. (I'm guessing the bellowed up pipes will fit the van?)

I wouldn't think so, but I'm not sure. I wouldn't trust the engine cover to keep any leaking exhaust gasses out of the cab of the van. That big piece of plastic with a gasket on it, won't seal out things completely.
International Truck and Engine Corporation, also known as Navistar, is the company that designed and built the 7.3 motor. You can look for a big truck dealer that sells International trucks (sometimes referred to as IH) and their medium duty trucks had the same 7.3 we have. They just called it a T444E. There are lots of parts available for our motors from International that are cheaper than the Ford branded parts. You just have to know what to ask for since the International dealers can't look up parts by Ford models.
