Ok silly question, but what is a bump in a post. I have seen people write "heres a bump", what is this?

 

anytime you have a new post in a thread....you "bump" it to the top, and it gets viewed more

 

That's when a post has slipped through the cracks and starts heading for page 2 or 3 where others may not see it. If you don't know the answer, or think there is useful information that others should see, then any reply you give will "bump" that thread back to the top of the list. If you don't have anything to add, you can simply say bump, to note you're reply is merely to help out the original poster (OP) get more views or opinions.
