Ok decided not to cut the fram but to just unbolt the motor mounts and lift then engine the 6 or so inches before the turbo hits the top of the bay. Now my real consearn is just resealing the oil pan. The oil has been draining for 2 days with the drain open hoping most of the oil has drained away from where ill be resealing the pan even after that I have 2 whole cans of carb cleaner and a wire brush to remove any oil and greese is that ebough to get the mating surfaces clean enough?

You may not have enough clearance to get the pan off by just lifting the engine but if you do, I have good cleaning results starting off with scotchbrite and mineral spirits, then when all the old sealant is gone switching to carb cleaner (or acetone) with a clean cotton rag.

Nothing wrong keeping a thread alive. The noobs been a member since 09'. I've been a member for a while, but most things I've needed help with were already answered by using the search function. This was an awesome alternative to removing the engine.
