IPR Values normal?
There seems to be a lack of power and i found some info that i need clarification on.
Along with the low power there is also a "knock" or a stumble. Hard to explain. It is not quite as bad as when my #2 Inj just died. But it is there and it feels like my truck just doesnt have the oomph it used to esp when towing my dump trailer.
Anyways, so i read that if you hear noise (kinda like a grinding) around the fuel filter housing, it may be your o rings on the IPR leaking/sucking air. Is this correct?
I dont see any evidence of oil leaking or anything leaking from the IPR but i figured it could be problem?
Also i hooked up my AE and drove around for a long time to see if any of the live data will show me anything.
My numbers area as follows
Idle:
ICP PSI - Pretty steady at 475-480
ICP Volts - 0.7-.83
ICP Duty Cycle: 12.5
1500RPM while driving around
ICP PSI - 980
ICP Volts - 1.41
ICP Duty Cycle - 20.7
WOT (Driving around - 3300 rpm wanted to floor it)
ICP PSI - 2492
ICP Volts- 3.32
ICP Duty Cycle - 33.6
Do these #s look about right?
Thanks for the help
Having said that, I doubt that the IPR is your problem. You may have a boost leak or something. What kind of boost are you seeing? Log that as well.
I have never heard of the grinding noise at the IPR. I am pretty sure that unit is magnetically activated. If there is a grinding sound, the closest thing I can think of near that is the cam, aside from the gearing in the HPOP. Again, aside from the gearing in the HPOP.
Also no boost gauge -
And im pretty sure that my PCM does not have a PID for boost - I will check it in the morning tho. I know that my PCm does not support some of the PIDs available on AE -like cyl rotational cahnge values - my PCM does not have these - I have a very early PCM and i am actually looking for a later model one now with a better code like the PTM 1 or 3
Anyways I will log my comute to the shop in the morning again to see if i can get any higher values and alos see if i can see boost values.
Thank you,
