Yessir. My timeline was always shaky with the 7.3. My first diesel was a 6.0, and I hadn't really looked into them before that, so it's all historical to me.

The powerstoke nameplate was created with the direct injection 7.3 in 95. The 94 could have an IDI 7.3 NA or Turbo. I don't know if Ford or International owns the powerstroke nameplate.

No need, really.

1999 and up Superduty trucks are pretty similar.

Pre-99 "Superduty" trucks are basically F450's. Many people ask questions here, and we do have a lot of SD forum regulars who know about the F-Superduty, so they DO get their questions answered.

If you have a question specific to the engine, ask it in the appropriate engine forum. We DO have specific engine forums for the 6.4., 6.0, 7.3 (both turbo and IDI), V10 and 5.4L V8. Although the 5.4 is also shared with the F150, so there is some overlap there.

I have the 2008 F-250 with the 5.4, and the overlap F-150 information is still very usefull. I like the way things are set up.

Actually the pre 99 trucks already have their own forum but the way they word it makes it kind of confusing. This thread should actually be used for 1987-1996 F150, F250, F350 and up vehicles. It should also be used for the 97 & 98 F250, F350 and up Heavy Duty trucks.
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum28/

All of those trucks are very similar. If it is an engine related problem the user needs to look for the appropriate engine forum.

The 97-99 F250 Light Duty trucks should be included in this forum (which they already are, but sometimes people show up in here).
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum25/

Before the 99 model year there was no such thing as a Super Duty, and the trucks were very different, so they really shouldn't be put in here. I think it would be difficult to seperate out the 08-09 trucks right now since so many of the parts can be made to work with the 99-07 Super Duty trucks, and many members here are involved in projects like that (console swaps, mirror swaps, tailgate swaps, etc).

A lot of guys have owned several different years of SDs. The engines change but the platform has remained relatively the same over the years. Sure there are styling cues, interior upgrades and some improvements (i.e. coilovers in front) but they experience most of the same problems. Just because we don't know how every generation's nuts and bolts are arranged doesn't mean we can't help with problems and what the causes are.

I like the general SD forum for everything not engine related, this way I can find info and post some help at the same time...

Not to mention that I get to find out the weak points of all the newer ones so that I can get the next best SD out there when my 7.3 dies...in 20 years.

I appreciate the feedback, guys. I'm still learning. So, the SD forum is really just 2000+ SDs.

It's 1999+

And, those few F-Superduty trucks that are from 1997 and earlier. Although they really belong in the pre-96 forum, we still get them here.

And, HEAVY-DUTY trucks. Like the F450/550/650/750. Not sure of any real year limit on that. I wouldn't chase them away, that's for sure
