96 psd, new gp's new gpr new uvc harnesses on wednesday last week, now today it wont start! anybody have any pointers on it or should I just get rid of it?
does the tach move while you crank it's probably something simple mine wouldn't start earlier because i forgot to tighten the pcm bolt when i installed my chip don't give up on it
also i noticed on my truck if the service engine soon light was on when the key was on or if the wait to start light didn't come on then it wasn't gonna start
yes the tach moves, no chip in it, it will crank and smoke alot but no start, the temp here is like 35 in snowy, started this morning to go to work and now it wont start ( 5hours later) no CEL and wts stays on for 10 seconds or so. Im not too happy for this because i just put a grand into it on wednesday!
if its smoking white while cranking that at least tells you that your idm is throwing fuel and the injectors are firing. on your next attempt at starting turn the key to on and wait 15 to 20 seconds AFTER the wait to start light goes out before cranking.
also make sure the glow plug relay is clicking when you turn the key on.

Yup...the plugs actually cycle for 120 seconds.......reach in turn the key,go unplug...walk around and kick the tires.....then start
If it's that cold, something is a miss with the glow plugs. Smoke means the fuel is there, and since these are compression motors, all they need is heat after that.
Man, a grand? Where the heck did you buy your parts? And what caused you to buy UVC's If you had burnt pins, you may still have a burnt wire a few inches up the harness.
Yeah I ended up taking it to a shop here in Grand Rapids, Diesel Performance, i knew the price was steep for the fix, but I was in a pinch and needed the truck for work. They were fast like 2 hrs for the fix. But the only thing that Im waiting on is a new block heater cord from ford ( backordered for 2 weeks) so I cant plug it in. Im pretty sure they replaced the burnt wires. I just wish this thing would run when its cold.
