Just got home from a trip on the POLAR EXPRESS with our two greatgrandaughters, it's in Connersville In. and is about 11/2 hr. trip on an old train, houses lit up along the way till you get to the North Pole where Santa gets on the train for the return trip, sits down with every kid for pictures and gives them a new Santa Bell. Man what a wonder thing to do with kids around Christmas. I know it's nothing to do with old trucks but we did make the 2 hr. trip in my F250 SD, thats gotta count for something, sorry I just needed to talk to some grown-ups after all day with kids cooped up in pickup and train, Garry------- I'm not complaining---------------
Out here in New Mexico they run the Polar Express train on the old narrow gauge track out of a little town called Chama and up into Colorado on the Cumbres-Toltec railroad. They probably do the same thing from Durango to Silverton on the D&RG track.
My friend took his kids last year and they had a super time!

Glad you had fun

LOL, back in the early 70's, either Silverton or Telluride was PO'd at the railroad on some account ($$ no doubt), so the townsfolk greased the rails. The tracks had enough of a grade that the train couldn't stop until it was out of town and couldn't go back (no traction).
Sorry -- didn't mean to hijack, Garry, Just remember, pretty soon they'll be wanting the keys to your truck!! Enjoy it while you can!
Ross, I've got one 16 yr. old grandaughter that loves to drive Homade whenever she can, says she wants to drive it to the prom in May this year. She said she wants to be the one driving the coolest ride at the prom, whata you think her chance of doing that is, ha ha ,Garry

When ya hand her the keys -- give her a little kiss on the cheek.
Oh, the watering of the eyes is caused by some dust blowing around.
They have the real "Polar Express" here in my hometown. Along with the train Tom Hanks and gang used for the movie. www.steamrailroadinginstitue.com they bring alot of folks into town all year long. Most of the mechanics volunteer all year long. Great for keeping something older alive and volunteerism. Quite an operation.
