Project Rat X
You just need to fix up a '71 Dodge bus to get your wish! Okay, so it's only six Hooters girls but, after all, it's only a Dodge.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but they were all quite decent. We were on an antique car tour on the Del-Mar-Va peninsula with the little bus in 2002 and went to Hooters in Ocean City, MD after we "kidnapped" two of the older members on the tour. We had a real fun evening and the girls fell in love with the little bus and came out so we could get some pictures.
Some kids never grow up!

Well, dang! Maybe SOME bubbles ought to be left unpopped.
I'm sketchin' out the rear bumper I'm going to have fab'd. It will fairly plain but rugged, sprayed with the Gatorhyde of course. Not sure, but I may move my spare onto the back using this as a template...
Tiregate Vertical Series
Removing the carpet front to back and spraying the Gatorhyde. Removing the rear plastic side panels and spraying that as well up to the windows to sound deaden and gain more room for storage. From the second set of seats back, I want to make a raised, hinged platform with 3/4" plywood about 6-8" high that would act as storage for tow gear, booster cables, hi-lift etc. The platform would them be sprayed with the Gatorhyde as well, inside and out.
I want to move my two main starter batteries to the rear and put an onboard compressor and a dedicated, deep cyle, third battery up front to run the winch and compressor. Using the idea of a second alternator, I want to mount a higher amp alt next to the original and somehow run a step up ratio pulley to juice the third battery when the truck is at idle.
Don't know how many of these will become reality....we'll see.

While I've never had the carpet out of my X, I have replaced carpets in other vehicles and don't recall alot of wiring in the floor. To me, that would be a bad design as carpet gets worn, wet and constantly walked on. No matter though, any stray wire that I find can be re-routed.
