Roll Bars

Anybody know where I could buy a nice set of chrome roll bars for a 83 f250? I've ben looking and it seems their a little hard to find these days. Thanks for your help.

ive been looking for a roll bar for my pickup also if i were you i would try jcwhitney.com i think im going to make my own so i can get it to be supported by the frame because no one planns on rolling there trucks but if i ever do i want to know that im not going to die lol

The stuff you find on JC Whitney and the chrome big loop bars are mostly cosmetic. They might add to protection if your friends tip your truck over with you in it a -0- mph, but do nothing for high-speed crashes.

If you're just going for looks, google search "sport bar" or "light bar".

If you want protection, search for "roll cage".

Click on "More product pricing and details" here and find their catalog, which has as one opening line the disclaimer that these products are not designed for rollover protection. Nice looking stuff, but NOT rollover protection.

I was thinking of making my own and "stealing" one of their designs. I would tie mine into the frame for strength though. Not that my tires would ever point to the sky....
