Wiper blade interchangability?

Will the wiper blades off of a 1981 Ford Escort work on a 1992 F250?

If so, is there anything that I should look out for?

Will they clean my windshield better than no blades at all?

I've just got to ask. Why? Just run down to a parts store ask for the lengths and buy some new ones, that you know aren't dry rotted. And chances are is no. Let me look up the lengths.

EDIT::: Just looked up the parts numbers for 'em. It looks like they will work. But im still saying just go buy knew ones

Ive used wipers from 81 escorts all the time, just make sure you flip them over and swap the left and right. They always seem to work better than no wipers at all.

Will they still work if the rubber is missing from the wipers? They won't scratch my windshield, will they?

Can I re-use a set off of a 1976 Grand Prix? They look the same to me......

Just go out to the nearest junkyard and grab one off the back of a dodge caravan. It should be big enough to cover the entire drivers side. The passenger side doesn't have to be clean.Or just do what I do when I'm out at the mud hole.Reach out the window and wipe the windshield off with a towel. You've got a lift and 4x4 on your truck,so if you run anyone over,oh well.lol.

I had a 73 VW Bug once and the wipers didn't work at all.

I tied two strings to the wiper arms and me and my buddy would take turns yanking it to move them back and forth.

Oh, and you had to scrape the INSIDE of the window in the winter. The heater ducts were rusted and there was NO heat!

The wiper motor in my truck is bad,so I don't have wipers either.lol.But I don't drive my truck,so it doesn't matter right now.And strangely enough, even on the coldest days, the windows on my truck don't frost up.I have no idea why.Oh,and I don't have heat either.Heater core is bad.lol.My F100 and your Bug have a couple things in common.

Gee Stosh, I don't believe that with all your trips to the yards, that you don't have a spare set around. I've done that string trick before when the wiper trans quit on my 81 cop car and the blade would stop on the side of the W/S. It would have to rain all the way through PA and VA.
