here the low-down. my bronco came with a 351W in it, and the motor finally let go. i bought an 88 f150 with a 302 for a motor swap(truck was only $50 lol). anyway, i have the motor in, almost finished the swap, but ran into problems with my distributor. the one from the 302 has a different connector on it, and the one from my 351 is to large to fit. do i need to swap my wiring harness??
The 88 truck had the TFI module on the distributor and by '94 thay had moved it to the fender. The 2 choices that make most sense are, modify your wiring harness to reach the distributor mounted TFI, or but a newer 5.0 distributor. If your Bronco has the E4OD tranny the 88 harness is no good to you, and changing all that is an awfull lot of work for 4 or 5 wires.
lol, tried, but money is tight right now and this truck was the right price. gotta change the wiring harness and eec, should only take about an hour, already got it tore out of the donor truck
Does your bronco have the E4OD tranny? If so the 88 computer is no good to you, it may run the motor but the tranny won't shift so the truck won't move.
