I've done various tuning up things on the truck the past few months.. including
1. Complete transmission flush with new transmission filter.
2. Complete fuel injection system cleaner
3. Oil Changes and air filters
4. Spark plug change
5. Transfer case flush
6. Differential Flush
7. Replacement battery
8. replacement battery cables
9. Exhaust fix
Now here's the one problem that continues to persist. The torgue converter doesn't lock when the truck is cold, usually below 40 degrees F. Give it two or three minutes at speed, then it'll lock as it should like normal the rest of the trip. Is this a built in thing to quickly warm up trans fluid or what? It doesn't chatter, that was solved with the transmission flush. I dunno if this is good or bad. Someone please inform? Thanks much!
It's normal.
Takes about 100*.
Been that way in all AODE/4R70 a long time.
The temp sensor is on the trans valve body and signals the PCM when it' can allow lockup.
If you increase pan capacity, it will take even longer due to the increased volume of fluid..
