New poster needing wheel info

Hello everyone, fine looking board you have here!

My question is: 15" by 8", 5 on 5 1/2", 4" backspace,takes a 10.5" centercap...Did the factory make these?.. Where do I get myself 2 of the forementioned?

I am at my wits end trying to find a set of simple steel wheels for my truck... 68 Ranger (400-C6--3.89-9") not factory equiptment of coarse.

PLEASE HELP ME, PLEASE!!!!

Welcome aboard!

I'm surprised no one else has responded. It seems to me that most factory 15 inch wheels with the 5 by 5.5 lug pattern were either 7 or 7.5 inches wide. An 8 inch is probably an aftermarket, although I think some older steel wheels, plain ones without spokes, may have come in an 8 inch width. These are very common wheels and fit most older ford 1/2 tons and jeeps. I would think it would be easy to find. I've gotten used ones for $10 at junk yards and any tire shop can get custom wheels for as much as you are willing to pay. This may not answer your question, just not sure exactly what you need...

Thanks Jayson, I called a couple well known wheel outfits but to no avail. They also told me a 15 by 8 was aftermarket.

When I bought my 79 bronco it had a set of factory steel wheels. They were 15x8.Although they were not factory equipment for that year bronco I think they were standard equipment on trucks in the late 80's or early 90's.The rims were of a spoke design, grey in color, with a chrome trim ring. The centers were made of black plastic screwed to the wheel.I seen this style rim on many trucks but can not pinpoint the years. I have been able to find the wagon wheel type spokes, but, I need the wheels that take the "dog dish" centercap. I spent the better part of 3 hrs. today calling salvage yards around central kansas, nobody has any

If anyone has a local salvage yard that might have 2 of these wheels, A name, #, E-mail...... ANYTHING....

I am shocked that a part like this is turning out to be so hard to get ahold of.
