I had a Olympus D360L 1.3MP (excellent color and image quality) a Olympus C4040 4.1MP (better optical zoom not as good at color reproduction but image quality was also Excellent) and I will have to get another one so I was interested in ya'lls experiences with current production run Digital Cameras...I also need a replacement for my Ruger P90 and am also interested in opinions of different .45ACP semi autos & the model you likesCost $$$$
hmm whats the Specs on this Taurus and whats their reputation???? I've heard of them but never actually seen or fired one of their guns in any caliber........and is it just me or did Olympus drop the ball on quality????
Jake I looked at that and the D360L in particular goes for next to nothing now and that camera was tough as nails trust me on that one. the C4040 was a good camera but if it got banged around like the D360L it'd have died the first time out. Our dog knocked the D360L over atleat 4 times while he was alive and it didn't phase that Camera at all...........Having said all that though I'd like to get a Camera with the 10MP rating but the image quality and overall product quality of the Ancient D360L
I was considering getting a DSLR, but decided not to because I like to take videos with my camera now and then. I got a sony DSC-H50. It has the high res capability, is easy to use (takes great sports pics of the kids), and hasn't given me any problems at all. Silly reason for staying with a point and shoot, I know, but I like the camera.
Cameras I can't vouch for as I was a film nut, so digital is new to me too, but my mother who does a lot of hobby photography uses a Nikon D90?? or something.
Amazing pics.
As for the .45ACP...well Colt of course...but I hear Springfield are up and comming, and there is Kimber too. Myself I'd only have a Colt or Kimber, but I am biased.
Taurus are, well, lets just say I don't own any anymore and no one I know who bought one still has theirs. They are nice at first but quickly loosen up and the lack of tight tolerances of the machined parts make you wonder how it stays together, but they do have a lifetime warranty, or used to, and they've been around a while.
I just wouldn't buy one, but if your all about saving a few bucks then a Taurus is always going to be cheaper than any of the guns it is a copy of, as is most if not all of their guns.
Eh I loved my Ruger P90 it was a really nice tough gun with a good feel in the hand especially with the Hogue wrap around grip.....fired anything and everything I threw at it the one time I shot it....and Law enforcement uses alotta Rugers...Colts are a bit expensive for my Taste but I like the Balistics of the .38 Super incredible gun. but I love the .45ACP slower round so less risk of colateral deaths and liability and large diameter with good weight and a 96% single Shot Drop rate and my understanding is that goes up to nearly 100% with a premium Defense round
I like .45acp round, hate the guns. I have a permit, carry and trust a berretta 92 in 9mm. it has NEVER had a malfunction, with the proper ammunition 9mm is a very effective round. and as the military puts it, 9mm has the highest cyclic reliability of any auto pistol cartridge. .....thats what you want, a pistol that goes BANG!, EVERY TIME!.....45s are nice but in my years of experience I have seen too many , battery/ ejection failures w/ .45s.
.357 sig, bottle neck pistol cartridge feed reliability problems, .40 S&W cop i know says s/w stands for short and weak. has niether the knock down of .45acp or the deep penetration of 9mm luger, both of which can be life saving qualitys. sub sonics in .40s/w have caused ejection problems in some pistols. A number of people will disagree but, 9mm is the 302 of the pistol cals. not the biggest, not the most powerful. its enough to get the job done, and always reliable.
Sorry, I get kinda carried away on subject of defensive pistols, after all your life COULD depend on it! I just prefer to have something I KNOW is going to work, If God forbid, you should ever need it. just throwing a lot of years of personal experience/ opinion out there. ......BEST round I ever found for 9mm,..COR/BON 115 JHP +P+ 1440 fps/ 392 ft lbs.
