I thought that might be the case. I just don't want them to burn out once a month.

I can tell you guys from experience after rewing my headlight system to run through separate relays to power the system, wow what a major difference in lighting.... Since I installed my PIAA Super white headlights in my truck last year I thought something seemed lacking, well this mod really made those lights shine ;-) Thanks guys for bringing this mod to the dinner table..... Just for information I used 10 gauge wire and bought some heavy duty headlight socket connectors also just for overkill....

I looked another website selling the kits, and it did NOT mention the 4 bulbs. I think Summit is just using a generic listing. LMC sells the kit also, for about the same price.

I was thinking about getting the harness from LMC. Thats the only one I could find before you mentined the Summit one.

I figured that JCW or one of the places like it would have them for a cheaper price with free shipping, but they don't seem to.

I'll probably just get the one from LMC.

Thanks for sharing. Thats cool that it made a big difference for you. It was also mentioned that the Aerostar and Sundance benefited greatly from this mod. What percent of an increase do you think it made on your setup?

I've been running both of My '93s with home made harnesses for over 5 years. I've never noticed any difference in bulb life. No melted sockets, switches.

Just LOTS more usable light.

Glad to hear the positive input. That enough pros vs cons for me. I'll be ordering the LMC kit soon.

Check your voltage first. The relays are an effective mod if you are not getting sufficient voltage at the bulbs or are planning on running higher wattage bulbs. I checked mine last night and I was getting exactly 13v at the bulb so I will hold off on mine for a while.

Also for anyone who wants to learn more about lighting, check out the daniel stern lighting website, lots of usefull information there.

You really don't need a costly kit. Just get two relays, some wire, and some connectors.

I have running them on 2 of my trucks for about 5, or 6 years with no bulb changes, also.

Thanks for the tip. I should have thought of that. I'll check before I order the relay harness kit.

Which wire on the OEM headlight connector is the ground and which is high and low?

Your probably right... but isn't the kit like 30 bucks? at that cost you'll be hard pressed to do it much cheaper with bought parts. The thing the kit has going for it is it's a simple plug in and might save some time as well as make it easier for people to install... I plan on making my own "kit" because... well I'm kinda fussy and I want to do it my way! lol

I agree, and posted a very similar comment on another Headlight MOD this week.

For the convenience of buying it and having it plug n play, it's not worth finding and buying the relays and then making all the connections separately and having to worry about bad connections or such.

I'm going to buy this kit myself and install it on my 93. Maybe it'll be a Christmas present to myself.

I know! you pointed out to me that there 30 bucks in that other post...lol. I've got a bunch of wiring to do over the holidays any ways so I'm doing it the hard way...

EDIT: I'll let ya know what it cost me
