Yes they do they have an article in the new Diesel World magazine about it they make the adapter plate transfer case adapter and sensors and all good list of stuff you have to have to make it happen. I did not add up all the different prices though but looked costly. It is also the lead article on there web site.

All that, plus the cost of the 5R110... Just get the BTS and forget about it.

That's what I would do and plain on when my trans gives up on me...

Need to get a valve body for mine now anyway....

You can get a 5 speed 4R100 if you go with a gearvenders second overdrive unit ontop of a BTS Tranmission. That would be cheaper then a transmission swap.

Not these transmissions they will not hold up to it. My truck had a new one put in at 84K. If you keep it cool and maintained I have seen them go 250+.

The 7.3 is, the stock tranny wasnt designed for the torque of the diesel and to hauling the weight that the diesel can, so they tend to fail sooner that later..

I would like to see a comparison between a bts and a allisan 5 speed, performance wise!

I wonder if there would be enough difference with that extra gear to really make it worth it...

Justin, thats a good idea too, that GV unit.

I have stuff done to my engine that is a little more than the stock trans likes and have not done anything to the trans. It is like playing with a ticking time bomb if set to the highest setting on my chip the trans can not really take much of it. I want to install the valve body to help with the pressure.
I would rather (but money is not there for it right now) just get a new BTS trans and be done with it and not have to worry with it anymore.

You do know, that the 5r110 actually has 6 forward ratios, i believe when it's cold it goes 1-2-3-4-6, and when it's hot it goes 1-2-3-5-6, or something like that.

I thought in the Tow/haul mode it used all six gears?

Why does it skip gears anyway?

Maybe Ford thought they could save some MPGs by having it skip some gears
