Just read 2009 half ton test on pickuptruck.com ford got beat really bad. When will they wake up and give us a real motor. No surprise if they go out of buisness
Frankly, it's about time that Ford figured out that we need more in a truck than just a powerful engine, although that's never bad. I've purchased a few new trucks in my day:
1986 FS Bronco, 300CI 6 cyl = ~15 mpg
1991 FS Bronco 351 V* ~ 15 MPG
1997 F150 4.6L V8 ~ 15 MPG
2006 F150 5.4 V8 ~ 15mpg
20 Years of production and the mileage hasn't gotten any better. They should have stayed with the 351 since that had the most power in the RPM range your going to use it in of the bunch. No it wasn't the 300 HP that the 5.4L 3 valve engine has, but all it's ponies were felt at 2K RPM.
