gotta say, that looks pretty sharp. give you a nice approach angle and u wont have to mess with the frame. sounds like an all win situation to me. i always liked the super camper specials with the rear set way back.

Just cuz i am **** like that, I have to make a point of clarification.
Unless this truck is driving backwards, this would be a departure angle, and not an approach angle.
Approcah with the front, and depart from the rear.
Breakover angle is the center of the truck.
Well here's some new pictures of the progress as of RIGHT NOW...
Here's where it started. It had 6 inch springs, a 4 inch block and a shackle flip kit... and the bed was well..... STOCK.
And this is what it looks like with the bobbed bed!!!! Had to move some cross members under the bed and do some frame work but it really wasn't that bad.
This is a shot of the truck. Sorry for all the stuff in the way. The front tires are tucked into the wheel wells alittle too much because I haven't ordered my new springs yet. It's sitting on some 4x4s to get it to the right ride heigth. Hope you guys like the progress
Yea it's actually getting coils.... not coil overs. Can't really afford that since I'm putting in arb lockers front and rear and doing the hydro assist steering... but it'll still do better then the leaves
was going to but there isn't enough room for it when it starts to flex. I'm going with a set of ballistic fab coil buckets top and bottom and the bottom even include the lower link tabs. It will use a set of yj style springs
Ok, so I have to complain here... I've got ALOT done since I last posted here and can't get any of the photos to upload anymore! same kind of file, same camera, same computer but it isn't working! Is anyone else having these problems?
So since I couldn't figure out a way, I posted them on photo bucket. Let me know what you guys think of the progress so far. Right now I have to take the bed back off for just a few more mods, then body work and paint, but the general idea is definately getting there! I will also be finishing the bumper, adding removable mud flaps. Now I have to wait for my dual transfercases so I can plumb the brakes, wire the rear section, build the fuel cell and fire this thing up again! It'll be nice for it to move under it's own power again instead of being pushed everywhere by a tractor. BTW, wait till you guys see what I have in store for the fuel cell!
Hey Blueoval. Thanks for the update and very nice looking truck.
I think the reason you couldn't load the photo's is because you were trying to load them to your gallery. Adrian posted something awhile back that they're trying to do away with the gallery's and have people use the "Garage" thats listed under your profile.
I'm very impressed with your skills and vision for the truck! I really like the boxing of the frame and the additional lateral support structure... you should have minimal flex in the frame now. The 4-link and coil springs look great and should provide a lot of stable movement of the rear axle. I can't wait to see the finished truck... keep us updated on the progress!
