Anyone use verizon push to talk?

I'm in charge of the cell phones for our smal company
15-20 cell phones

We've had nexHELL pretty much since they came out with direct connect.

At this point, we're tired of being raped and not having service in our buildings or on our jobsites.

I've started looking into VZW and actually have 5 phones to try out, but the PTT wont be active for another day or 2.

Anyone use it? the lame part is that VZW only offers it on 2 phones

I have not heard anything good about them. However, I never have been inclined to try them as I have a free hybrid Nextel from work. Very happy with it compared to the old Nextel system only.

eh, i've got an ic902 (hybrid) shiney new phone, same ****ty network....

the hybrids don't use the same network (mhz wise) as the sprint cdma metwork.

I was very dissapointed that my sister (sprint user) could get service in the northwoods of WI while our hybrids (toted as having the best of both worlds) could not.

We just got rid of the IC902 from sprint and upgraded to the blackberry because we went thru 5 phones in 6 months for 2 of us. We was breaking the connections in the flip part with screen and had a black screen sometimes. Got mad and they changed phones. Good reception on the ic902 but better with blackberry and faster web access.

It all depends on your locality. I agree nextel is going out - this is why we switched to sprint. (same company now)

If Vz does not work out for you AT&T has had PTT for 4 or 5 years now and it does work good. As with any provider it all depends on signal strength, out of all the options Verizon or AT&T will generally have the best coverage.

The hybrids don't roam on all the available frequencies. My hybrid (ic702) sits on the charger at home, goes in and (mostly) out of service all day, just sitting on the shelf. The non-DC part works a little better than Nextel only, but not much. US Cellular seems to be the hot setup around here, only thing that works in Markesan and Cambria. VZW drops out many places around here.
