Well fellow Ford junkies I have what probably amounts to a stupid question but I'll post it anyway.
How do you get the caster camber bushings on a lifted 81 f150 out or loose enough so I am able to adjust them myself
Please help! The local allignment shop wants $130 to do it. I can think of better ways to spend $130.
IF your camber bushing is the same one used on a 93, then you
need a pitman arm puller, but I have a question for you, how are
you measuring your camber, do you have a camber gauge, and if you
do then I recomend you get 2 pieces of sheet metal and put a lot
of grease between them and place it under the tire so that when
you adjust it, the tire will be able to move when you turn the bushing to your desired setting..good luck, let us know how it
turns out...
Thanx for the reply but when I finally was able to get the bushings out and adjusted, it ended up I had to set them all the way positive camber to get the tires straight up and down. It does not pull one way or the other nor does it wear on the tires yet, not too bad for my first back yard allignment.
Oh I forgot to add that all it took to get the bushings out was to put a block of wood on top of the ball joint and smack it with a hammer and the bushing popped loose.
