My 93 couldn't be aligned last week, due to the left-lower and right-upper ball joints being in pretty bad shape. I went straight from the shop, to NAPA and bought 4 ball joints, 2 U-joints (outer U-joints need to be replaced), 2 spindle bearing kits and 2 wheel bearing seals.
I have a spindle nut socket and ordered a ball joint press. I'll have to rent the spindle-puller from AZ when I'm ready to get started.
I was unable to do the job this past weekend, due to not having the tools and also due to not being able to get my 87 started, so I could get it out of the garage.
Anyone have any tips/tricks to getting this job done and done right? I've never tackled a project like this on a 4WD and appreciate all the help I can get. It's looking like I'll be doing this by myself.
That leads me to another question... It is IFS, so I assume it's a D50. When I went to get the parts, the guy asked me what the weight rating was on this axle. I told him the sticker said 4410. The first set of lower joints he gave me, were too small. The joints I ended up getting, were what his book listed for the 4600+ axle. What gives?
