Folks,
My truck has 268k on the original injectors and is running fine. It is a daily driver and tows a 20' Gooseneck Horse Trailer (11k). I have been doing research on replacement injectors as I see that coming soon. I will be going with new injectors and will be adding tunes (probably DP Infinity Programmer w/CEI Hub for EGT, don't see a need for shift on the fly). Current mods are in signature. I am leaning towards 160cc. My question is nozzle %. Stock vs. 30% vs. 80% vs. 100%? Any input would be appreciated.
I'm in the same boat. I think I've decided 160/30's.
I like that the fuel can be injected faster with the 30% nozzles, over the stock. It's a big discussion...others will chime in, don't bother with less than 100% nozzles. I'm not saying they're wrong....I'm still reading and making up my mind. I "think" tuning becomes increasingly important as the nozzle size gets bigger. I'm not looking to replace the turbo either and that's a factor as well.
I have 30's and have had some issues with high egts. Some say it is because the fuel delivery has to be spread out over more time compared to 80's or 100's. Gearhead and I have tried a lot of difderent things with the tuning. I am not convinced that I like the remans. I may ask if I can upgrade. I have installed 18 remans so far. I would prob go 80's if I had it to do over. Dont want Rich's probs with the 100's but might like something a little bigger than 30's that can drop the fuel with less PW.

That's the thing. A person could just drop in AC's...many say they are great all on their own. I'm going new...just have to decide nozzles. Tim @ PIS likes the 30's over stock.

Matt at Gearhead also suggested the 30's. Maybe if I get a set that all agree with each other I would be happy.
My PIS 175/80's are perfect for all of the daily driving and towing that I do. EGT's stay under control while providing great power. Used with a 38r with WW2.
Been having my own issues with the 160/30's but it's not because of the nozzles. I am having higher EGT's than I would like, but I believe they are as a result of up pipe issues and possibly a lack of air intake. Both of which will be handled in the near future.
Otherwise, I like the 160/30's a bunch more than stock.
I'd like to know about the problems Rich is having with 100% nozzles because they're 100% nozzles (not just about his injector woes in particular).
Sorry for the confusion I was referring to the extra money he had to spend (not expected) due the extra HP. Most the traction/ladder bars. The smaller nozzles would be less likely cause the need for these. Also if I had nozzles that big I would want to step up to a larger turbo to be able to support them.
I was saying I would not want 100% nozzles because they would cause me to spend even more money on the truck. I know that he is happy with the injectors and your tuning.

We are having the same issues but I have already replaced my up pipes , installed a high flow outlet. I also have a n AFE 2. Matt has tried several times to tweak my tuning remotely. I am now on track to install a van turbo to lower EGTs.
What about an intercooler upgrade to bring down those EGT's ? Have you considered that? Not the 6.0L but ones like the DI and hyper max. The DI intercooler on my F-250 dropped EGT's @ 100 degrees unloaded and close to 200 when towing the camper.
About 7 years ago all my upgrades were aimed at lowering EGT's. The Van Turbo & gutting the EBPV dropped them @100 degrees, installing the DI intercooler resulted in the largest drop and the Swamps 175/146 single shots even help lower them a tad.
