heh, I am not sold on the superiority of a 400 stroker over a 460 stroker with the same kinda money thrown at it. If I was stuck with having to use the same engine for inspection purposes, I would do it.
If the engine was free, a 460 swap can be performed for about $200 in parts IF you get the right motor/parts combo. If the swap looks factory, its good enough for me. I have seen some installs that fooled me until I looked at the VIN.
An update...after pulling the engine a few weeks back, I couldn't put that nice clean engine in a dirty engine comparment, so I'm going to do a frame off resto. I'm going to powdercoat as much as possible...engine, transmission, axles, frame, transfer case etc.
I guess I should have been following this one closer,I didn't know you planned a frame off,thats going to make a beautiful truck.
its hard to stop at just cleaning them up once you get started,I know it was for me with my 78,the only this that stayed bolted down was the cab.
