Wiring elec. choke

78 F150 which had the heat tube style choke.I'm switching it over to elec. choke.Do I just tap into the stator wire from the alternator?

If it's an aftermarket choke, then read the instructions carefully, they probably want a full 12 volts. You will have to get this from the fuse box.

If it's a Ford electric choke, it is designed to run off the stator of the alternator.

The choke is an aftermarket replacement part listed for an earlier model (71) truck so I'm going to assume it's run off the stator wire.Do I just tap into the stator wire?

Stator wire will be fine. There should be a terminal labeled 'S' on the back of the alternator; that'd probably be the easiest.

There is a wire attached to the "s" terminal on the alternator.Can I just splice into the wire with maybe a scotch lock?
