Well my OD light had stopped working, like the wire was broken. I replaced the shifter handle with an 05' and the light still doesn't work. The over drive still works but the light still doesn't work. Where would the wire be broken? It is simple to replace and the plug is the same,so it should be the same. Any thoughts??
Do you have any idea if the wire going to the plug is a hot wire or not? I was going to check it when I had it apart, but just forgot too.
IIRC There should be 3 wires. One of them should be hot, just like Ray said. I can't find a diag on the TCS, I must be locked out of the workshop manual.
I have a set of 2001 Workshop manuals. I will look it up. They are as thick as a dozen phone books, may take me a while

I'll let you know what I find. I'm gonna replace my lever as well. I'm 99% sure that mine is a bad connection, but since I'm only home on the weekends. I ordered a new lever complete with the TCS switch and wires. I'm just gonna replace it all.
Is TCS switch the correct name I am looking for? I can't seem to find anything yet,but like I said these are very thick books...

I took mine to Ford and they replaced the shifting lever, shifting tube, bushings and a couple other parts. $106 inparts, 260 Labor. But is is tight like when it came out of factory
