headlight adjustment

is there an easy way to re-aim the headlights? Mine seem a tad high, but I didn't see anything on or behind the headlights that would suggest any kind of "adjustment" Tips would be great! Thanks guys!

The low beams on my 08 F-150 seem to be too low(too close to front of truck) There is info. in owners manual to readjust with 4mm socket. I tried that on a dark street, but cant see any difference. Maybe I didnt turn it enough. Hi beams seem ok.

I've actually been able to get some adjustment out of loosening the 3 mounting screws and pushing the housing in one way or another to get the beam pattern to shift up a little or down. Just shift it and retighten.

I've done this in front of the garage door, with painters tape marking where the beam is positioned. Granted the changes aren't huge, but it might be just what you need over the factory adjuster.

In my 04 owners manual there are instructions for this adjustment. I did it a couple of years ago, and if I remember correctly you measure the height of the center of the headlight from the ground and put a mark on a wall the same height. Then with the truck about 25 ft away from the wall use the height adjustment screw (a 4mm socket sounds right) until the top of the beam just touches the mark. I don't believe there are any side to side adjustments, only height.

What about alignment issues? My passenger side headlight doesn't fit like the drivers side. It's too far back and too far towards the grill. It leaves a big gap between the headlight and the fender.

88 did you buy the truck used? That kind of gap is a sign of a poor body repair.

Carfax said its never had any issues. That doesn't really mean that it hasn't taken a hit. It has a Ford headlight in it.
