Sooooo
After leaving the VFW last night, I stopped by the Flying J ($2.27 for diesel) and filled er up with 30 gallons of gas.......yep I said gas. I didn't realize it till I had driven about 25 miles. Luckely I was at the local racetrack today and they had a 55gal drum for waist fuel. Spent about 3 hours getting as much out as I could, changed the filter and had the wife bring me 5 gal of diesel. Filled it back up and seems to be OK. Damn. I can't stop kicking myself.
Lesson learned, refuel BEFORE going to the VFW! There are those that have, and those that will.
Well Brian, ya made me feel a little bit better...
Izzy, its a 38 gal tank so pretty much it was full of gas. Just got back from dinner and she ran fine. I think I get lucky
don't sweat it, i've done "a lot" of dumb things after leavin the VFW, last one was a girl named lisa.
Now that there's funny, I don't care who you are!

Yep, I'd say you got lucky. I wouldn't have thought you could have got 25 miles, but glad you did. Was the fuel bowl full of gas when you change the filter?
Next time, fill up on the way to the VFW.
The M35A2 military 2-1/2 ton trucks were "multi fuel"... and rumored to run on about anything combustable......it does not shock me it ran on gasoline.... but I don't know what they did to the multi fuels to make them multi fuel.
A friend of mine let his father-in-law borrow his '95 PSD. He brought it back to him complaining that it ran like $h--. He had filled the tanks (as a favor) with gasoline. I don't know how far it had been driven, but it is still running OK with around 300,000 miles on the clock. He sold to his buddy when it had about 286,000 miles.
