Tire sidewall cracking

Hi everyone. When a tire starts developing several cracks in the sidewall after a few years, could the tire fail suddenly? My guess would be yes. I was wondering if anyone has seen this happen, thanks.

yeah it could, if that happens your tire is starting to dry rot and will become very brittle and start to crack and such.

Yes, sidewall cracks can be trouble especially if it gets into the cords. Your problem is usually called "weather cracking" and normally not serious it is a good idea to inspect the cracks to see how deep they are and consider a new set.
