Just curious as to how you know it takes type F? only the early ones take type F, otherwise mercon/dextron is used after 77 IIRC and if it's been rebuilt in the past 20 yrs it should be mercon/dextron irregardless.

1976 F350 SCS 7.5 c6 trans I am going off of the dipstick and my tranny has been opend up once in its entire life and that was by me back in 2005I know the old guy who refuses to give up the original bill of sale of when he bought it for a whoping 5,600 cash!!! He also stored it in his barn back 78 when the motor developed a rod knock and it never moved untill I bought itin 2005
