Drain oil, replace filter. Put in five quarts. Start it up until the filter fills and you get oil pressure. Let it sit. Check dipstick in an hour. Add oil until you hit the appropriate line.

I have done 5 qts. with filter for over 40 years.

Some folk say 6 qts., I have never had an issue with 5.

i too was mistaken this thread is about oil changes, then i realized that this is only a duplicate thread about oil pressure and oil pressure gauges, and oil capacity, which were both posted in the same day 2 hours apart.

1967/72 F100/250 2WD w/FE engines use the same oil pan as 1967/71 390 Passenger Cars (C7AZ6675A) = 5 quarts with a filter change.

1967/72 F350's & 4WD's use a specific pan (C7TZ6675E) = 6 quarts with a filter change.

1965/66 F100/250 2WD's & F350's w/a 352 use a different pan than 1967/72's (C5TZ6675E). The Owner Manual states: 5 quarts *

At the bottom of the page: * = 6 quarts with a filter change.

I owned a 1965 F100 352, which I bought new in March 1965, sold it in November 2009. I used 6 quarts w/a filter change...as the manual stated.
