vac. pump??

vac. pump??
hi all, what all does this vac pump do?? just hvac controles and lock outs or does it do more? i ask b/c my lock out pulseator went bad and i lost my vaccum so i pulled the hvac hose off the tank and pluged it into the pump, bypassing the tank and whatever else it does. so do i need to un-hook the lock outs and plug the tank back in or will it work just like it is??

Just ESOF pulse to the hubs and HVAC. The only thing you are doing by bypassing the tank is reducing the reserve capacity on the vacuum system and causing the pump to turn on more possibly. If you don't use the pulse hubs anymore and manually lock them, just plug the port on the knuckle, and plug the vac lines and reconnect the canister. Those stupid vac pumps are a bit spendy if they die but if they do and you have manual hubs, then you can use bailing wire and tie the HVAC doors in the position you use most like I did and avoid spending $140, that is until you want other HVAC modes...
