Lately I've noticed when I start my truck cold, if I tap the throttle, when the rpms drop it will squeak. It only does this for the first 10-20 seconds while the vac. pump is building up. After the A/C switches to the vents it wont squeak anymore. Since I have owned the truck, something always sqeaks when I shut it off. I just got a new belt to throw on there later today, but does it sound like my vac pump may not be long for this world? Everything vac related works fine, brakes and HVAC. When it's hot outside, I can hear a real light, occasional sqeak with the engine running.
I had a very similar problem with the 6.0, I put a new belt on and the squeak went away, may not work for you but I would go put it on and see what we get
does it still squeak when you click on your a/c? if not then its your bearings against the clutch. imo you should get some contact cleaner and spray inside your alternator. could be your brushes or bearings starting to go. shut off your engine, grab your fan and try and lift it and push it down. if theres any shaft play (no jokes about that please) then its your water pump. you could always remove one belt at a time until the squeaking stops, then you know that accessory is the issue.

Reason: forgot it was a 93... damn serpintine belts lol.
Check for play in your tensioner & idler pulley. Minewas squeaking for a month or so and I didn't think much of it, until the idler siezed and threw the belt. When I was checking other things I found out the tensioner pulley had a TON of play in it so I replaced it as well.
FYI when you go to the parts store, they will list about 5-6 different idler pulleys. Any of them will work. They didn't have the factory style plastic one so I used one of the steel ones. In fact any of those pulleys will also work for the tensioner. At least they made something interchangeable.
I figured I would just replace the idler and tensioner assembly since they were original, but the squeak is still there. It has resumed the shutdown squeak as well. I guess it all just stops to quickly for the belt to handle.
