Hey everyone im brandspanking new to this forum. I have a what i think is a 57 ford truck in my backyard. I was in eastern washington thinning some land with my dads lil stock ranger with 2wd and balding wheels and realized that mabye something larger with bigger wheels would be nice so.. I was wondering what would be involved in raising it a few inches. please in your explanation keep in mind im 15 and have no idea what is involved in raising a truck. I mostly know about stangs so maby a quick rundown on lingo and stuff if at all possible would be helpful.
I am only 16 so I don't know much, but I will try and help ya out a little bit. For just a few inches of lift, it may be your best bet to just go with a body lift on an old truck like that because I doubt you can find one. If you want more than a few inches of lift you have probably only two options. First would depend on your resources and how much time you are willing to put into it. That would be swapping it over to a 70's frame with ps and pb and such. Although I don't know how easy that would fit. It could work though. The second would be much easier and is probably what I will end up doing. Go to a spring shop and have your springs rearched or have some custom ones built. I know you may be able to contact Eaton Springs and have some built there. Good luck man! Hope this helps!
