Fresh longblock this past spring.
Old School, and almost stock....

Not too bad, she made it 21 years and over 300k.

Ok lets see if this worked....

Just finished kitbashing this from 2 trucks. This truck (new) ran great but had a fuel system problem - 10mpg! so I had a perfectly good system on old that I grafted over, with all the known good sensors and the like. Even has a customized harness which you cannot see. Its on a patch of an engine - the 302 is coming out in spring for a 347. the rest of the truck Ill start a project page for.

I know this is an older thread. I thought it would be better to continue this one rather than start a new one.

I thought it would be nice to see some more trucks engine compartments.

Here is an updated picture of mine. It didn't turn out very well. Anyway, I dumped the FIPK "hot" air intake and put the stock air box back on with KN drop in and I6/460 tube.

I'll get some better underhood pictures soon.

Any perceptable increase in performance with the drop in KN and the 460 intake tube? I wish that I had the MAF intake from the factory.

Be sure to use a flash when taking underhood pictures-even when it is daylight outside. The flash will make the details of the engine bay much more apparent in the photo.

You'll notice I went with the red....I think it turned out great and it matched my skyjacker suspension pretty well. I also used red FRPP plug wires.

Havn't even driven it yet
Oh dude...

I totally want that thing in my truck.

I can tell you that fuel economy is about 18 mpg mix. It was 15 before. The truck also runs smoother on the highway with the AC on.

I don't know about the power increase. I got the I6/460 tube because it just makes much more sense and it looks like a better setup.

Don't waste your money on any of the open air filter kits like the FIPK.

I would not mind having that on mine. I bet that is a hell of a lot more fun to drive.

I got some better pictures of my truck's 302. I deleted the other one that was too dark. In the last pick you can see the intake tube mod.
