Pocket book ouch,

Well my 86 would not start today causing me to be late for work. It just would not fire up. Til I sprayed ether in it. So I took it to local shop.
Guys at work said well there goes your right arm. Got to remortgage the house.
The carb just would not setup right no matter how much I adjusted it the last 3 months. So out of this frustration I took it in.
It cost me $180.00 for them to just set it all up. It took then an hour and a few minutes. Have to pay them another $42 for those few minutes.
Parts only cost $25.00 the rest was labor.
Told wife there goes Christmas.
All I can say I hope I get better gas mileage and the truck now quits flooding. I just hate this having to get out and stick a screw driver in the carb.

This kinda sucks but if the fuel economy goes up you`ll save the cost in afew months or less, let us know if it improves the fuel mileage.
Where did you take it to Glen and a side from the cost where you satisfied with the service?

That really sucks glen, did they provide lube, or at least buy you a drink after screwing ya?

155 bucks labour for an hour and a bit? That sounds like an overcharge to me!

110 an hour? That is nuts. I thought they were around the 80ish mark.

How about $300 for a fifteen minute visit to a lawyer`s private house one evening, a quick question about a land deal that never went thru.
No lube, that`s extra..........

I got one even worse!

We went to an accountant to try and get some help for our business tax's and gst stuff.

Well the chick(supposed to be a gst specilist) we went to didnt know a damn thing, Sandi figured it all out, emailed the chick to ask if what she had done was correct, and they accountant tried to charge us THREE GRAND for the info that Sandi sent her!

I just about flipped my lid on that one!

In the end Sandi talked to the owner and got the bill drastically reduced.

I didnt dare go in there, thats one of the times I would have rather swung my fists and spent a few days in the slammer!!

Same here I try to do most of everything myself. But it is frustrating when you have to dole out so much for small things.
It worked out to $96. an hour.
They were good about getting me in the same day. Drove me back to work in my truck and a co-worker was nice enough to drive meback after work. So Customer service in shuttling a customer sucked, but the promptness to get me in was a plus. Most places were saying a couple of weeks to get in.
Will not name the place. Lets just say 22nd street behind Money Mart.
See I do my own income taxes. But if I have something new change my taxes I will take it in. Then see what they did and remember for next time. Usually keep a copy to guide me next time.
Man that must be some elaborate accounting place. I heard some are like that and others are just a few hundred for a short period. I can see that amount if it took days and weeks.
My daughter loves doing that stuff. She works accounting at Yanke trucking and they offered to pay her to take more courses. I told her she should go for a CA. cert.
She wants Office Administration.
SO Preppy it may help to find someone small that does that at first to keep the cost down til later when you really get your business rolling. Then pay the big rollers. Once they get CA behind their name, they attach the dollar signs with it.
I knew shop rates were expensive, It just makes my A$$ so sore when I have to bend over.

My wife is a CA, She wrote the exam last fall. It Take four years university and at least two more years through the CA school of buisness while you work for a accounting firm. The exam is a three day long exam. I'm very pround of her, she works for Deloitte and got promoted to manager this fall. She is only 26 years old. The money is't a good as you might think if you take into consideration the amount of hours she works, especially from December to March.

Yes even after getting the CA course you still have to put in time to get where you make the good coins.
One of my daughters friends. Her parents were both CA's. They were pulling in each over $100,000 ea. Actually her dad was closer to $200,000 a year. But they been at it for some time and aways traveling the world. The sad part is this friend and her brother were raised by others not their parents. So they now have issues with them.
So what I'm saying some CA's are caring about who hires them and try not break their banks where others are only self serving and have no care how much the soak the other fellow man.
It is just hard to find those that care and love thier job and try to help other homest people.
