EGR gasses don't flow thru the DOC before it gets to the engine. EGR isn't the reason for CJ-4. CJ-4 includes the same soot handling characteristics of CI-4, but is formulated with low SAPS additives (sulfated Ash Phosphorus and Sulfur) to protect exhaust aftertreatment systems, ie. dpf DOCs.
