I have a 2005 with 6.0, 72,000m, all of a sudden started running rough and died. Started back up once, then died. Now will turn over strong but will not start.
Replaced fuel filters(both) checked and seems to have good fuel pressure and fuel at 2 of the 4 tubes.
Replaced the cam position sensor , since this was the problem on 3 past Fords.
Turns strong, but no start.
Have you checked for DTC's (diagnostic trouble codes)? They will help narrow it down. The most common "no start" condition is when the High Pressure Oil Pump" system develops a leak at the "snap-to-connect" fitting. However, this is usually characterized by a no-start when hot.
It can be several other things though - so check for DTC's if you haven't.
Just curious - are you using OEM or OEM style oil and fuel filters and have you load tested the batteries? I know you said it cranks strong, but I always load check the batteries first thing on a no-start - just to be sure.
I have an 05 scurge and it was doing the same thing. Almost start...... Spinning faster than just the starter motor....... but just would not catch fire. It was the EGR valve stuck open a little. Deluted the intake air with burnt gas just enough to not start. Like someone said. Pay the 100.00 and let them fix it.
My 05 did that twice, first time was the HPOP, second was a pin hole on the IPR. So many problems with mine, that I finally accepted defeat. My truck has since entered the afterlife, and has been Zombie limping around waiting for it's V10 replacement to send it to 6.0 heaven!
