Painting door side moldings

Once I remove moldings what prep is req'd--same as for metal? And is there a special paint for non metal molddings? I don't want it coming off again like the OEM job.

Me again

Well I have had no response to my question so I guess there are no auto body guys on the forum right now. I'll ask at the supply store for auto repair. This is the first time I got shut out on the Fte forum.

It might just be the timing. Some members with that experience might not of had a chance to log into the forum lately. Usually everyone is very helpfull. Be patient.

I'd probably ask in the body forum,
I'd think the prep would be different.
I know that paint co's make different spray paint for plastics,

Honestly, I'd just buy new ones. Once you get the old ones off and prepped and painted you've spent an awful lot of time doing it.

Krylon makes a paint for plastic, don't know if it would work with that hard rubber trim but you can try. Alot of guys painted their grills and whatnot recently including me in the 7.3 forum, try there or what our other members said, paint and bodywork section, good luck and welcome to FTE.
