Service engine light came on two weeks ago
code says O2 Sensors. Haven't replaced them yet due to not being able to spend the money yet.
Then last week at 35mph/> truck would vibrate/shake when letting off accelerator. Took it in had the tires balanced and rotated when I noticed the vibration. yet it continued to vibrate.
Yesterday Started to leave work and it vibrates/shakes like i'm in an earthquake.
Side note: April 2007 I took my truck in for an alignment and the shop said they wouldn't do it because the front-end needed to be updated. They told me that some of the parts were bad... So needless to say I had them "update" the frontend and got it aligned...
There are a lot of DTCs that have O2 sensor in the code description. Some concern problems other than a bad O2 sensor. This is why it is important to get the code along with the description. The code is the thing that we would need to be able to help you. I wouldn't go replacing O2 sensors just yet. Take a look at the vacuum line from the PCV and follow it to it connecting point on the intake manifold. This hose may be rotted out causing a major vacuum leak. Good luck!
I firgured out why my truck was shaking.. My Drive shaft bolts were missing.. I had one left hanging on for dear life.. got it to the shop and they saw that i had one of four bolts and the last bolt only had three threads before it came out...
But im going to goto a friend of mine who has a full scanner that gives details in the obd2
Dude, The bolts came loose (and maybe) it's just result of the erratic shaken. Your lucky the shaft didn't fall out and your here to tell about it. Anyway, Same happened here...... Kingranch is dead on. Masive vac leak found under intake throat- Mine, anyway was the from the popular 3/4" elbo fitting fr0m PVC to intake. That's my Holiday inn advice... Thank you..... Oh, your welcome. No thank you.... No absoultly thank!
Do not just run with what you were told without understanding what the code is and the discription.
It's not done that way and is luck if it is the problem..
Code only tells you what system is in trouble and not the specific cause.
Doing so will just result in spending money for parts you don't need.
There are many items involved with even a single code.
A store jocky cannot tell you what part is the problem.
Take a look at this website.
I have used this tool to help eliminate problems listed by the DTCs.
Remember, 02 sensors are pretty tricky at times, so look at all related items to find a solution.
When you do replace any sensor, it is a good idea to reset the computer and drive the truck to let the computer relearn. A better OBD scanner will let you turn off the CEL when repairs are completed.
