Hi, I need help with a 87 e150 heater core. Thanks

Hello, i have a 87 e150 302fi w/ ac. I could use a hand getting to my heater core. I pulled the cover by the pass. seat and took out "the brain?" and bracket. then took the round cover off the blower box.

I'm woundering how much i need to take off the get at the core. The main box has vacuum lines for the doors and other stuff attached. I'm hoping i can take out the box as a unit. Will i have to lift the dash pad to get at it?

Any help would be great. I'm hoping to get back on it asap. Thanks-Rob

You basically have to unbolt the box from the outside, remove the box, then there is an access panel on top. The core will slide out the top. Save the insulators from the old core as you'll need to re-install them with the new one.
