Too many miles?

I am considering buying a 2001 f150. Unfortunately, it has 121k miles on it. I was wondering if this is too many miles and is not worth the buy? Thanks

X2^^. It would depend on the kind of maintenance it recieved from the previous owner and how much they wanted for it.

I bought my 01 Supercrew last Dec with 85k on it. I paid 14K for it. It's in mint condition. I now have 92k on it and I love it. It does have that "piston slap" that scared me the first few times I heard it, but it's normal they say. (Guess I'm used to those pushrod engines!)
Good Luck with your deciscion

It wouldn't worry me a bit, if you're getting it at a fair price. Should have a bunch of miles left in it, if it was taken decent care of. I've got an '01 with 207,000 miles. The previous owner pulled either a boat trailer or equipment trailer with it probably 85% of the time. Still runs and drives great, and has good power. I bought it with 205,000 on it. The trans had a problem, so I got it for a deal. These are good trucks.

I sold a MINT '97 with 265,000 miles on it, everything under the hood ORIGINAL except the starter (and belt, air filter, plugs, etc). Ran like new, been kicking myself ever since, so I just bought a '02 with 93k on it. I figure at the low rate I put miles on, it'll last me way over 10 yrs.

Don't sweat it, it it's been taken care of, it's good to go!

Yeah, 120,000 is nothing, these trucks are good for about 300,000+ if you take care of them.

I have 120,000 miles (264,000 kms for us Canadians) on my 2002 F-150 with a 4.6 and the only thing that needed changing was a drive shaft u-joint. Thats it. And before I owned it, it was my Dad's who definately did not take care of it, never changed fluids towed too much weight...etc. Its still going strong, no noises, no problems just pure Ford awesomeness.

Oh and I recently discovered he never changed the fuel filter either ... I'm changing it tonight...

I bought my 01 new in 00. I have about 150k on it now and going strong. Changed the trans fluid a couple months back for the first time. Other items have been ball joints, rear u-joints and brake pads, still on the original rotors and battery.

Great trucks.

Bought mine with 100k and now has 136k in less than a year. Love it except the tranny is being a little weird now. I'd deal it as low as you can get it, but definitely worth the current pricing out there. I bought mine before the gas prices changed everything and the eceonomy went to crap. Probably paid 2-3k more than I would have just 6 months later. Still love the truck though.

97 F150

Bought my 97 new from the dealer. Now have 225k and never been in for major repair. If you keep up with the simple things you should not have any problems.

My '98 is still available & just turned 12,300 miles. Will get it's 12th oil change at 12,500 miles. That truly "is nothing" & is very nearly "MINT" & should quite definitely "have a bunch of miles left in it".

well my 97' probably has close to half a million miles on it. though i cant be sure as the odometer quit when i hit a ditch in it at 15 (10years ago) but i'm sure its close as it is driven everyday. Still no work to tranny or motor. Oh, anyone have any ideas about finding out how many miles are actually on it? Can the dealership hook it up to find out?
