How many is too many?

For future reference, if I were to buy a PSD or IDI truck, how many miles is too many. I wouldn't want to buy a worn out truck. I know diesels last longer, but where should the line be drawn. Also, what should someone look for before puchasing one?

Yes diesels do last long but, its not the big things but the small things that will kill you. Yes the engine will last long but you got to factor in injectors, glow plugs, wheel bearings, clutch, ball joints, brakes and so on. 5K doesnt show bad at all for a 96 but it must be kind of beat if its that low. Just look for the small things.

Every single rubber bushing might be bad, I been there and done that before on other vehicles with high miles. Things like steering boxes, bearings, etc get worn out.
