Hey guys I have a 89 bronco. I love this truck. I want to lift it 6". What is the best kit? Which kit comes with everything? How hard are the to install? I am on the fullsizebronco.com website also. They explain lifts pretty well but I am just looking for opinions. Thanks guys!!!!
I had a 6" Cepek lift on my '86 before the mods started. The beefiest kit I've ever seen. Next up would be Skyjacker. Superlift kind of took a hit for a while. they may be back to a solid #3 now.
I like my Tuff Country lift. Not the first name you hear but consider this. Their lift is the ONLY kit that gives you additional caster and camber adjustment once the lift is installed. The radius arm bushings AND the axle pivot bushings have adjustments +/- 2.5 degrees. Not only that, but the adjustments are independent of each other unlike the stock ball joint shims. The stock shims can only compensate for so much caster adjustment before they start to mess with the camber and vice-versa. I know this doesn't always seem so important at first but ask a few people what getting the alignment right on a lifted Bronco can be like... its not pretty. The last thing you want to have to worry about is chewing up those bigger tires you just put under it because you can't get the alignment right. Just my $0.02. They have complete kits and offer full replacement springs both front and rear so you can do it right without blocks or spacers.
BDS has a lifetime no questions asked warranty with there lift and the hardware is very well built, but is probably the more expensive kit.
which ever kit you go with get extended radius arms, and for the rear do either an AAL or full leaf spring pack. dont run blocks or the radius arm drop brackets.
I'm with greystreak, i'd go with tuff country(or rough country, pretty much identical lifts), they aren't as expensive as the major brands, but are just as good, in some cases better. other than those 2 i'd try BDS as previously stated, they have an excellent warranty department
Bronco Handles great
4" suspension w add-a-leaf and 3" body lift
the only thing wrong with it is it doesn't fit in the garage
I went up 7" because I had 36" Ground Hawg radials on it
Hawgs were junk tires-Shook big time
had to cut bumper coners
but it looked cool
6" superlift superunner system from bronco graveyard with radius arms and rear leafs. Ended up having to add a 2" block in the rear to level it out. 315 75 16 maxxis bighorns. install was not as bad as I was expecting either. I have had it on for a year now and have had no problems what so ever.
