Haven't done anything to mine but I have been tempted. The factory heated seats have never been great. They are on a timer and they cycle even when left on. Supposedly this is a safety feature to keep the driver from getting sleepy. I don't know if the later model seats are any different.

On my '05 Lariat I guess what I meant to say is that the switch is lighted as long as you don't turn it off but the heater itself cycles on and off. They stay warm for about 10 minutes at a time then they cool off for about 30 minutes. Then they come back on for about another 10 minutes, and so on...
