Swapping Radios
Does anyone know if Radios from different model/year could work? Say a 2008 Expedition Nav radio? Could it be modified to fit? I loved my nav radio in my 07 Expedition and was wondering if those would fit. Or Maybe the newer superduty ones?

The radios are the same "brick" design, but the headunits on the newer vehicles are bigger than what we have on our Excursions. I'd say the only way to integrate one of those headunits into an Excursion would be to install an interior from an 05-07 Super Duty whose headunit is the same size as the one you are interested in.

I would like to get one of these from Alpine that would allow you to keep the stock headunit, but overide the stock settings and use its own settings for the sound system.

Wow that looks great in his truck, that is the exact radio I want. I loved it in my Expy and miss it so much. I could pick one up for a good price too. I probably could get an aftermarket for close but not sure if it would look as good. Right now I have the siruis unit installed and I hate the way it looks and I miss the Nav too.
